Over the years I have seen many come without the necessary skills to rent an apartment in a part of town in which they will be ministering. Candidates need to ask themselves what part of a nation or city they should be located. This skill set includes understanding how they will describe to the nationals their background and purpose. What purpose drew them to that nation or city? What is their job? How do they get their income? These questions must be worked at over a period of time and often include some type of professional training. Nationals will put you into categories if you cannot define yourself, and those categories can be disastrous. I met a worker that was leaving in one week for the field that asked what his entry strategy would be. Unfortunately that is the wrong time to rush through such questions.
